Position:  President and CEO

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have a Master’s Degree in a business or rehabilitation field with a minimum of five years experience in a senior management position.  Must show substantial experience and training in supervision, administration and a thorough knowledge of problems and resources.  Knowledge in the following areas is required: human services, finance and personnel, oral and written communication, planning and evaluation, and governance.  Some experience in the field of philanthropy, not-for-profit management and governance and community relations is preferred.

Personal qualifications such as:  leadership skills, clinical knowledge, understanding of individual needs, supervisory/administrative abilities, ability to interpret programs to the community.

General: The President and CEO directs all aspects of Futures Rehabilitation Center’s operational policies, objectives and initiatives as well as the accomplishment of Futures’ mission and vision and the accountability of Futures to its diverse constituents. The board of directors delegates responsibility for the management of day-to-day operations to the President/CEO and grants authority to carry out these responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures established by the board.

Specific Duties:

Maintain administrative procedures for overall program and administration of same.  May delegate or assign any responsibility as needed.

Supervise fiscal and personnel procedures, including payroll, budgeting, reporting and audit.

Responsible for recruiting, retaining and supporting quality staff.  Specifies accountabilities for management personnel. Assures the process for selecting, development and evaluating staff.

Exercise final determination and authority for acceptance of participants or for official placement or termination action, following staff consideration and evaluation.

Work with the Board of Directors in establishment of policies and have responsibility of implementation.  Work with the Board Chairman in developing Board committees. Recommends volunteers to serve on the Board and its committees.

Supervise the preparation of a monthly report of the overall financial status of the Center.  Prepare and present a report of the operational status of the Center for the Board of Directors.  Prepare an Annual Report which will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors.

Responsible for seeking and applying for alternate sources of funding, grants, loans, etc.
Prepare data and information for public release.  Serves as the chief spokesperson for Futures, assuring proper representation of Futures to the community.  Facilitates the integration of Futures into the fabric of the community by using effective marketing and communications.

Listens to clients, donors and the community in order to improve services and generate community involvement. Assures community awareness of Futures’ response to community needs. Initiate, develop and maintain cooperative relationships with community partners.

Assures the filing of all legal and regulatory documents and monitors compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Will serve as President of Futures’ Endowment Trustees.  Will monitor the income and expenditures of the Trust.  Arrange quarterly meetings with the Trustees and give a general report to the Board of Directors at the Annual meeting.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

This is a high-stress position based on full responsibility for Futures’ operations. Handles detailed,
complex concepts and problems, balances multiple tasks simultaneously, and makes rapid decisions regarding administrative issues.

Plans and implements programs. Establishes strong and appropriate relationships with Board,
committees, volunteers, staff, donors and clients. Develops smooth and constructive relationships
with executive colleagues, outside agencies, organizations and individuals.

Plans and meets deadlines. Maintains a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of executive
management. Hours may be long and irregular.
